Description
If ever you were late for a Rugby match at the Old Central Park, you could take a smart short cut down a ‘ginnel’ between St Mary’s Church and The Royal Oak Pub. With quick walk you could enter the ground at the end of Hilton Street.
This piece of art by David Barrow portrays a supporter making that exact journey on a cold winters evening, Central Park floodlights shining like beacons beckoning him to the hallowed ground.
The ginnel still exists today so if you are rushing to get to Tesco Supermarket give it a go.
