New tracks in Northern Soul drove the scene in more ways than one. Of course most weren’t new tracks at all they many were diamonds unearthed from dusty record company vaults and back street record stores in an America. To find the next ‘biggie’ was the holly grail for most, to own an original was the next best thing.
Seven day lover by James Fountain was just one of the many thousands of tracks. The track was released on the scene, downstairs it was selling for 65p, but up on the balcony it was changing hands for hundreds of pounds!
